The School of Public Health, KNUST, successfully hosted the CPD‑accredited Short Course on Digital Health for NCD Prevention, Management, Control & Research from 11–15 May 2026 under the CAPSTONE West Africa Project, funded by the European Union through Erasmus+ (Agreement No. 101128468).
This intensive program brought together a multidisciplinary cohort of health professionals — including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, nutritionists, laboratory scientists, and public health officers — all united by the goal of strengthening the digital health workforce for NCD prevention and control.
The course featured:
Comprehensive training on design, implementation, and evaluation of digital health interventions, with emphasis on ethics, equity, and regulation.
Challenge‑Based Learning that placed participants at the center of real‑world NCD problem‑solving.
Expert facilitation by faculty from UHAS, UMC Utrecht, KNUST, and the University of The Gambia.
Certificates of Competence and CPD points awarded to all participants.
Participants described the course as transformative, bridging the gap between global digital health ambition and Ghanaian healthcare reality. Many reported feeling more confident in designing interventions, addressing treatment fatigue, and using digital tools for patient education and advocacy.
A heartfelt appreciation goes to the facilitators, whose expertise and dedication ensured the success of this program. Their contributions have left a lasting impact on participants and the wider public health community.
