Dr. Jainaba Sey-Sawo is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Department, Nursing and Reproductive Health, School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, University of the Gambia. She is a nurse and reproductive health specialist. She is actively involved in teaching since 2006, conducts researches, supervises thesis, and dissertations, mentors students and faculty members in both public and private institutions. She holds a MSc degree in Community Health Nursing, PhD. In Reproductive Health Nursing and recently completed her MSc in Bioethics. In addition, she is a Fellow to the West African Post Graduate College of Nursing – Community Health Faculty. Dr Sey-Sawo was a scholar at the Global Nurses Policy Institute Leadership training organized by the International Council of Nurse, in Geneva, 2017. Also a Fellow to the Demographic and Health Survey 2022 Fellowship Program, USAID. Dr. Jainaba Sey-Sawo serves as a member to the Gambia Government/Medical Research Council Joint Ethics Committee. She is a Co-Principal Investigator to the grant “Strengthening Capacity in Health Research Ethics and Methodology In The Gambia
